Rodalies de Catalunya R2 Nord (Airport – Barcelona Sants – Passeig de Gràcia)

Commuter rail from Aeroport station at Terminal 2 to Barcelona Sants and Passeig de Gràcia, both with easy metro links to Plaça de Catalunya. Trains typically run every ~30 minutes from about 05:40 to 23:30; T1 passengers must use the free green shuttle bus to T2 for this service.

Metro L9 Sud (Aeroport T1/T2 – Torrassa – Zona Universitària)

Metro line L9 Sud runs from both airport terminals towards Zona Universitària with interchanges at Torrassa (L1 red line) and other stations; for Plaça de Catalunya transfer at Torrassa to L1. Trains run roughly every 7 minutes, with total journey time to the city centre around 45–50 minutes including the transfer.

Aerobús A1/A2 (Airport – Plaça d’Espanya – Plaça de Catalunya)

Dedicated express bus A1 from Terminal 1 and A2 from Terminal 2 to Plaça d’Espanya and Plaça de Catalunya. Operates roughly 24 hours a day with very frequent daytime departures (about every 5–10 minutes, less frequent late at night) and a journey time of around 30–40 minutes depending on traffic.

TMB Bus 46 (Airport – Plaça d’Espanya)

Regular city bus from both terminals to Plaça d’Espanya, where you can transfer to metro L1 or L3 for Plaça de Catalunya and other central areas. Cheaper than Aerobús but slower due to many stops, with a typical journey of 40–60 minutes and daytime service roughly every 15–20 minutes.

NitBus N16/N17/N18 (Night buses Airport – Central Barcelona)

Night bus lines connect the airport with central Barcelona when metro and most trains do not run; services include routes to Plaça de Catalunya or nearby central areas. They usually operate between roughly midnight and early morning with departures every 20–30 minutes, from stops outside the terminals.
